Massage Therapy by Aimee

Signature Massage
A Therapeutic Massage tailored just for you. Client and therapist will communicate on the pressure and goal of the massage to create an experience to fit the clients needs.  This may be a therapeutic manipulation of the deeper tissue levels, helping to realign, heal and improve mobility. At times I may offer cupping as a mode to release fascia and tissue layers.
This may be a massage focused on relaxation with light therapeutic touch.  Or maybe somewhere in between is the sweet spot.

Prenatal Massage

Massage for the mother-to-be! Maternity massage techniques help to relax and relieve the unique aches and pains that occur during pregnancy.  Massage Therapy can be of the utmost benefit during the wonderful yet delicate time of prenatal and postnatal.

I have been through the experience recently myself so I know the aches and pains that can accompany this time.  I know how much peace and relaxation are craved.  I am passionate about assisting mommy's and mommy's-to-be with this transition. I have taken advanced prenatal and postnatal classes with Carole Osborne; a pioneer and expert in the field.  Please consult with your doctor before booking a prenatal massage if you are experiencing any complications or risk factors.  Prenatal massage can reduce stress, promote relaxation, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, increase blood circulation; delivering more oxygen and nutrients to both mother&baby,
 reduce edema/swelling, foster a nurturing maternal touch, regulate hormones through stress reduction, encourage more restful sleep, release endorphins to both mother&baby, relieve low back pain, sciatic nerve pain and headaches and increase the elimination of toxins through the circulatory and lymphatic systems;
relieving fatigue and boosting immune system

Craniosacral Therapy

A deeply relaxing therapy, bringing the nervous system into a parasympathetic state to promote healing. The therapist begins the session by listening with gentle touch to feel for imbalances in the cerebral spinal fluid. This is followed by light holds and gentle releases in the fascia and structures surrounding the cranium and sacrum. The craniosacral system includes the cranium, sacrum, spine and cerebral spinal fluid. The cerebral spinal fluid has a gentle rhythm, almost like ocean waves as it acts like a hydraulic system supplying nutrients to the central nervous system and removing waste and toxins. Craniosacral therapy rests in the belief that our bodies know how to heal themselves. The therapist holds space and provides a safe, supported place for the clients body to heal and balance. This is a gentle therapy and involves no deep muscular work. Craniosacral therapy can be helpful with migraines, headaches, anxiety, trauma held in the body, cramps/menstruation issues, prostate issues, pre/post childbirth, neck/shoulder issues, digestion, circulation, blood pressure, TMJ, whiplash, stress and insomnia.

Lymphatic Drainage

A slow, gentle, rhythmic technique to help your lymphatic system function properly. The lymphatic system defends the body against disease, filters blood, balances internal fluids and removes cellular waste, cancer cells and toxins from the bodily tissues. Lymphatic drainage requires a light touch to assist the lymphatic fluid to your lymph nodes for filtration. The rhythmic light touch moves the body into a parasympathetic state of deep relaxation. This therapy uses no deep pressure and no manipulations of the muscular system. It specifically helps the flow of the lymphatic system. Most clients report a feeling of deep relaxation, unwinding, and feeling lighter. Lymphatic drainage can reduce edema/swelling, enhance immune system function, relieve pain, help with autoimmune disorders, neurological disorders, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migrains/headaches, jet lag, digestive issues, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, sprains, stress and insomnia. Lymphatic drainage is not recommended for those with heart conditions, blood clots, kidney disease and active infections. I am not yet certified to work on clients with lymphedema and active cancer including the first 6 months after cancer treatment. Feel free to contact me for a referral if you are in this category.

Prenatal Lymphatic Drainage and Prenatal Craniosacral

Both lymphatic drainage and craniosacral are safe and beneficial for prenatal clients. Techniques are performed side-lying and/or in a semi-reclined position. Both treatments can reduce edema/swelling, promote wellness, boost the immune system, increase circulation, reduce stress, help with fatigue, promote more restful sleep, and  deep relaxation. Please read above information for prenatal, craniosacral and lymphatic drainage therapies for more information.

Craniosacral Lymphatic Drainage Combination

Combines aspects of both craniosacral and lymphatic drainage. This treatment is gentle, slow, thoughtful, deeply relaxing and opening. The nervous system is made to feel safe to bring the body to a state of balance. Please read above information on both craniosacral and lymphatic drainage.
